Self-discipline is like a muscle; it takes time to build, but you’ve got to build it on your own. Tools are great and they can help you stay committed, focused and organized. Lord knows I love productivity gizmos, GTD apps, checklists and whiteboards. But if you get so lost and dependent on the commitment devices themselves and not the good habits that they help you create, then any change that comes from it is unlikely to last.
