Lending Club, the peer-to-peer lending community is now offering no-fee retirement accounts. Now your peer lending investments can have a tax-advantaged status through a number of different self-directed IRA accounts.

Lending Club offers the ability to borrow and invest in what is referred to as peer to peer or p2p lending. It offers an alternate way to get decent returns in a down market. And now you can get $50 as a cash bonus when you sign up!

Peer to peer lending is an alternative to traditional institutional lending. In peer lending, or social lending as it’s sometimes called, the banks and credit card companies are bypassed and a middle-man company manages loans from people to other people.

Peer to peer lending site, Lending Club, recently passed a quarter of a billion dollars in originated loans. They also won a Webby. To celebrate they are offering up cash bonuses to investors.
