ts face it, being frugal is a word your Great-Grandmother used to use during the depression. Be honest, when you hear the word frugal what do you think of? Someone that spends hours clipping coupons and then makes you wait hours at the checkout line while the cashier scans all those paper coupons? Well I’m here to let you in on a little secret, being frugal can be Cool! That’s right, cool. Everyone wants to save money but it’s how you go about saving money that makes the difference.

I don’t normally think of myself as “frugal” because I don’t go out of my way to clip coupons, or to get the lowest price. However, someone recently told me that being frugal isn’t about being cheap; it’s about getting the best value for your dollar.

Frugal living does not mean shopping in thrift stores and having soup every night for dinner. Being frugal simply means being deliberate in how you spend money, not impulsive. There are many ways to be frugal but the key to making frugal lifestyle changes permanent is to find ways to save money that will work for you.
