I just finished reading the book, The Millionaire Next Door, and here are the lessons that I have learned from it.
According to the 10th Annual Demographia International Housing Affordability Survey: 2014 I live in the 2nd most expensive city in the world. Only Hong Kong is more expensive than Vancouver. You think NYC housing prices are astronomical? Take a look at the Vancouver real estate market. It will install fear in your frugal heart and make you cry, I pinky-promise. :P
If you’ve ever looked at last minute holiday deals, or even those further away in terms of dates, you’ll probably have seen that it’s more often than not cheaper to fly from London than any other regional airport. It’s quite frustrating for those of us that don’t live within easy reach of the capital, however I’ve decided to embrace the situation, and use it to my advantage.
I am back from two weeks in Miami and it was a great trip! Pretty expensive, although it was pretty close to what I expected, and most of it was shopping for things I needed and a few treats… Here is a quick recap of my Miami holiday expenses.
Welcome back to The Round Table. What a week it has been. Last Saturday night I woke up in the middle of the night with severe stomach pain. It lasted all night and come Sunday morning, I found myself in the ER. Luckily, nothing major was wrong with me, just a very powerful stomach bug. I was prescribed some antibiotics and sent on my way. Needless to say, Sunday was a day spent in bed.
Many of you may remember the SavvyInterview I conducted with Mr. Andy Rutter. I recently received a personal letter from Mr. Rutter in which he continued to share sage advice. He started the letter with a little Shakespeare in noting Polonius’ advice to his son Laertes, “Neither a borrower nor a lender be, For loan oft loses both itself and friend, And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.”
