Welcome to the Money Hacks Carnival #27 -- the Financial Dilemmas edition. In this edition, I am posing a few common financial questions and invite you to participate by answering them on your blog, or provide your input in the comment section below. First up are the Editor's Picks.
Dilemma #1: Renting versus buying a house. The traditional answer is to own your own home because you're building equity and there's also tax benefits. What's your opinion and why?
Dilemma #2: Invest versus mortgage pre-payment. The PF Blogosphere is heavily divided on this issue. Personally, I like the financial flexibility of investing over the guaranteed saving of pre-payment. Which one would you choose and why?
Dilemma #3: Should you build an emergency fund or pay down your debt first? I like to save money by paying down debt as fast as I can, but many will disagree. What would you do and why?
Dilemma #4: Saving for retirement versus paying down debt. Both are important and can have great financial impact. How would you prioritize the two?
Dilemma #5: Frugality versus cheap. What are the key differences between these two qualities?
Dilemma #6: ETFs versus mutual funds. Both are fantastic investment products, but which one would you choose and for what reasons?
Dilemma #7: Good debt versus bad debt. Is there such a thing as good debt?
Thank you for participating in the Money Hacks Carnival! Next week, the carnival will be hosted by Saving To Invest.
First, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has been participating on PF Buzz. The success of this community depends on your participation, and for that I thank you.
Secondly, I'd like to highlight the top 10, non-search referrers for the month of July.
If you are not part of the referral program yet, please check it out. In attempt to expand PF Buzz, I am increasing the payout to $1 per eligible referral in August.
Thank you!
Today, I'd like to announce a referral program (limited beta). Please read the detail below and if you are interested, please contact me.
The goal of this referral program is to increase the number of active participants in the PF Buzz community. As an affiliate, you will be promoting PF Buzz using your referral link. At the end of each month, I'll count the number of active users signed up under your referral ID and pay you 50 cents per active user via PayPal or Revolution Money Exchange (same as PayPal but without transaction fee) within 10 days of the month end (Net 10).
To clarify, it's a one time payment of 50 cents per active user and NOT a recurring payment.
To join the program, please contact me with a description of how you intend to promote PF Buzz, how you'd like to be paid, and your blog info (if you're a blogger).
Note that non-blogger can also promote PF Buzz by sending referral link via email to their friends.
If I believe that you'll make a good affiliate, I will enable your referral link.
An active user is someone who registered an account with PF Buzz and participated by reading articles, submitting articles, participating in the forums, and leaving comments.
The minimum threshold to be considered active is 25 karma points. You can see the karma point by looking at the user's profile or via the top users function.
Yes, you can right-click use the images below to promote PF Buzz.
