The third and final installment of my Credit Perspectives series. Credit cards are neither evil nor good - they simply don't have that capacity - they are just tools. Just like a power saw, how we handle them determines if we benefit or get hurt.

The first installment of my new Credit Perspectives series, taking the perspective of the "Yay credit cards!" camp.

There is a lot of emotion around credit cards - some don't leave home with out them, others can't wait to shred them. Easily and mistakenly, credit cards get a bad rap, and get labeled as 'evil'. The cards themselves aren't evil, but there is definitely something sinister going on....

Trying to improve one's credit report can be a challenge. Applying for new credit may prove to be difficult as many lenders prefer clients with good to excellent credit. However, thanks to bad credit credit cards and secured credit cards, getting approved for a new credit card even with a poor credit score is now made possible.

“Credit cards are evil.” “Credit cards are a trap, causing millions of Americans to become burdened with debt that they will never be able to pay.” “Congress should start to investigate credit card companies and should limit the amount of interest they can charge.” “As soon as I pay off these cards, I am going to cut them up and never use another credit card again.” These are just some of the opinions that a majority of us feel about credit cards.

I love my credit card. Everyone gives credit cards a bad rap, but what they don't realize is that it is people who create debt, not the cards. After overcoming credit card debt, it is my quest to not only teach others how to use credit responsibly, but also how to know what their cards offer as a cardmember.

Even though there are many types of credit cards out there for consumers, there are few for those with bad credit. Those who are looking to repair their credit have a few options available, one of which is the bank secured credit card. This credit card can help you to repair your credit, as it works in conjunction with your savings or checking account.

When it comes to rewards credit cards, Americans love cash back. According to TNS Global's Financial Services research, 57.4% of rewards cardholders have cash-back cards.
